Event Description
Join us as author and historian John V. Quarstein, director emeritus of the USS Monitor Center, presents on Admiral Franklin Buchanan, who is most known for his actions on the first day of the Battle of Hampton Roads on March 8, 1862.
Viewers are welcome to send any comments or questions to John, and he will answer them following his talk.

This Civil War lecture will be in person in the Museum's McMullen classroom and livestreamed.
Attending in person? This program is free with $1 admission, and free for Mariners’ Museum Members. Seating is limited, and chairs will be spaced out for social distancing in compliance with current CDC safety protocols for COVID-19.
Watching remotely? This program is free to watch and you do not need a Zoom account to participate. When joining the lecture, you will be asked to enter your name and email address.
